  I came early in the morning on Valentine's Day and picked up the flowers, and though arranged very well, as I walked out, I noticed it was very green and most of the flowers were yet in bloom. Being Valentine's Day, I would have wanted flowers that were in bloom on the day. I do not usually return items, but in this case I felt compelled to in this case.

  My girlfriend loved the flowers by the way, and amazingly enough, three days later, they still look great and smart, unlike the employees at Southland Flowers.

  I had an interesting experience with Southland Flowers, which occurred on Valentine's Day 2013. I had ordered $30 flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend at work a few days previous, but had decided I'd rather pick it up and deliver them myself as a more romantic gesture.

  At this point in time, every other employee looked at me like I was some kind of crazy person, and I almost felt a sudden urge to angrily retort "Do you know day it is? It's Valentine's Day! And it won't be next week!", but instead I replied "I fully understand what you mean, but I'm in it for the moment and not the long run."

  I don't know if they were trying to sell me off-bloom flowers to make more profit or if they were really ignorant about the significance of Valentine's Day and flowers, but thank goodness I picked them up and checked before they could deliver the mass of green shrubbery.

  I had a dinner party for ten people last night. My regular butcher wasn't able to supply me with the pork loin I needed. I rang Southlands Quality Meats on a friend's recommendation and they were able to help me out. I took along my own stuffing and the butcher kindly rolled and tied the pork loin ready for cooking. It was truly a spectacular success and every guest commented favourably. I followed the butcher's instructions carefully and the crackling was beyond amazing. Thank you and well done.
